NOTE: This event is at the DoubleTree Hilton.
All ages are invited to participate by dressing as a favorite character from a Winnie-the-Pooh book illustrated by Ernest H. Shepard! The contest consists of a simple display and turn in front of the judges.
When: Thursday, June 11, 2026. Day-of registration is 3:15 - 3:45 p.m. Judging starts promptly at 4 p.m.
Where: The DoubleTree Hilton, 500 Cypress St. Immediately following the contest, all contestants will be invited to line up for a processional to the Abilene Convention Center for Winnie-the-Pooh's 100th Birthday Party

Categories:
Ages 0-4: Must be accompanied by an adult. Prizes for first through third place.
Ages 5-7: Must be accompanied by an adult. Prizes for first through third place.
Ages 8+: Special consideration given to costumes at least partially created by the participants. Prizes for first through third place.
Groups: Three to six contestants with the same themed costume may enter. Prizes for first through third place.
Rules:
- Must register to participate. Registration ends day of contest at 3:45 p.m.
- Costumes must represent a character from the Winnie-the-Pooh books illustrated by E.H. Shepard.
- Minors under age 18 may participate in the contest only if a permission form is signed by the legal guardian. By registering, all contestants, parents and guardians agree to use of images by ACAC for CALF promotional purposes.
- Contestants may only enter one category. Group contestants may not also enter an individual category.
- An adult is required to accompany children 8 and younger during the costume contest.
- Costumes are judged on accuracy, creativity and presentation.
- No electrical power connections provided.
- No dangerous or potentially dangerous props allowed.
- No live animals allowed.
- All participants are allotted a few seconds to present their costumes for the judges and audience to see.
- All awards presented at the discretion of the judges.
